Graham has over 30 years experience in the insurance industry. He started his career with Guardian Royal Exchange and progressed with a number of established Lloyd's Broking firms before joining Tysers in 1984 where he is Director responsible for business development.

 

He specialises in the property and construction sectors where we have an enviable array of clients such as property owners and developers, surveyors, engineers, project managers and specialist contractors. He is a member of the Project Insurance Working Group set up to deliver the recommendations of the Strategic Forum for Construction.

 

He is a Member of the Society of Construction Law.

 

Graham was responsible for developing our environmental risk capability. Tysers are the foremost independent broker in the contaminated land sector and Graham is regarded as a specialist in this field.

 

He has been involved many recent activities and initiatives in the environmental sector:-

 

He was the sole representative of the Insurance Industry on the Contaminated Land Working Group set up to deliver the recommendations of the Urban Task Force chaired by Lord Rogers of Riverside (1999-2001). He is an active member of the Environmental Industry Commission's Contaminated Land and Integrated Waste Management Working Groups.

 

He is an active member of the United Kingdom Environmental Law Association's (UKELA) Liability and Insurance and Contaminated Land Working Groups.

 

He was the principal insurance industry contributor to the Construction Industry Research and Information Association's (CIRIA) Research Project "Brownfields: Managing the Development of Previously Developed Land: A Client's Guide" (2002).

 

He was the sole insurance industry contributor to English Partnerships’ The Brownfield Guide – A Practitioners Guide to Land Reuse in England (2006).

 

He is the principal representative of the insurance industry on the "Single Regeneration Permit" Working Group currently reporting to DEFRA on the need to replace the current contaminated land licensing regime.

 

He was a principal member of the insurance industry on the Price Waterhouse Coopers/Environment Agency consultee group on the "Management and Funding of Long Term Liabilities Associated with Landfill Sites" (2003/04).

 

He speaks regularly at conferences and seminars and contributes to insurance, property, construction and environmental publications.
