Mathew’s focus is on contaminated land and
environmental insurance projects which has covered single
development/regeneration sites, property portfolios through to
Waste Company operations.
He has a degree in Earth Science (BSc Hons)
and completed an MSC at Imperial College on Environmental
Management and Technology.
Mathew has previously worked as a consultant
on a wide range of contaminated land projects for over 12 years in
both a technical and management capacity. He has also worked with
an environmental insurance underwriter transferring environmental
liability with insurance.
Mathew is currently vice president of the
EIC Working Group for contaminated land and sits on the UKELA
working groups for contaminated land and environmental
liability.
He regularly speaks at conferences and
contributes to environmental publications.
Mathew has undertaken major projects:-
- Manager of a European wide Environmental
Insurance Programme for a Global Property Developer.
- Advising a major blue chip funder in
relation to due diligence and general environmental protection in
connection with funding of development sites within the UK.
- Advising a UK PLC on land contamination and
environmental aspects of their business to form a policy statement
and company operations manual.
- Placement of an insurance programme to
cover a waste company to include historical contamination risks at
landfill sites through to operational cover for waste to energy
plants and recycling centres.
- Creation of FillSecure an
innovative product for financial provision of environmental
permits.
