Christopher started his broking career and obtained wide experience working for Leslie & Godwin in their London and Paris offices. He has been with Tysers for over 30 years during which period he played an important part in developing a diverse and well-regarded Marine portfolio before moving on to a more general role as Group Joint Managing Director. Christopher became Chairman in August 2007. He continues to be the Group Mediation Director.
Gary joined Tysers in November 2003 and has nearly 40 years of experience in the London Market. He is Managing Director of the North America & International Specialty Division and is responsible for the development and handling of business from the United States, Canada and the Caribbean regions. Gary was appointed to the Tysers Main Board on 1st August 2004.
Jonathan Macey joined Tysers in 1995, working on the Direct and Reinsurance sides of the business, and was recognised by the industry in the 2006 ‘Insurance Day Young Broker of the Year’ awards. In 2007 Jonathan was promoted to Head of the Marine Division and has been instrumental in driving the division forward. Jonathan joined the Board on 1 September 2009.
Chris has spent all his working career at Tysers, joining in 1982. He has worked on all aspects of the Direct, Reinsurance and Marine areas of the business, becoming a Partner in 1994. In 2007, Chris was appointed CEO, concentrating on driving the growth of the business and assuming overall responsibility for the development and performance of Tysers. Chris has recently stepped down as CEO but remains an active member of the Boards of HBH and Tysers, offering his considerable expertise on strategy and business development.
Stuart joined Tysers in January 2015 as Chief Operating Officer and has over 25 years’ experience in the London market. He joined from Lancashire Insurance Group where he was the COO and prior to that worked at Hardy Underwriting Agencies and Aon. Stuart’s leadership and knowledge in both broking and underwriting operations, further compliment the Senior Management team as they work towards the future growth and development of the Group. Stuart was appointed to the Tysers Board in March 2015.
Katherine joined the Group in 2002, progressing to the role of Group Finance Director in 2013. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants and has full responsibility for the financial planning, strategy and management of financial risks within the Group. Katherine was appointed to the Board in September 2013.
Peter joined the Group as a Non-executive Director in March 2012 and has over 30 years’ experience in senior and executive roles in financial services, having worked in several countries. Recent experience includes Managing Director of ANV's Lloyd's Managing Agency and Group CFO to the Kiln Group and is currently Chairman at Hamilton Underwriting at Lloyd’s. Peter is a Chartered Accountant and chairs the Group’s Audit, Treasury and Senior Remuneration Committees.
Nigel was a solicitor and partner in Sidley Austin LLP before joining the group as a Non-Executive Director in 2016. He has spent many years advising the insurance market in the UK and abroad on transactions and business issues, as well as writing and lecturing on them.
