Tysers, a leading independent international Lloyd’s broker, is signaling its intention to generate serious growth in its chosen markets with the appointment of John McLaren-Stewart as UK Sales & Marketing Director.

John joins Tysers from Giles Insurance Brokers where he was the UK Sales Director. He has been a main board member of the British Insurance Brokers Association, an Advisor to the Department of Trade and Industry, was a member of the National SME Council at the CBI and a non-executive director of a Cambridge charity.

He previously worked at Sedgwick and Layton Blackham before starting Alliance Insurance Management which was sold to Towergate in 2008.

David Randle, Managing Director of the UK Corporate Risks Division, said: “We are extremely pleased that John has joined Tysers. He brings with him a clear vision of business strategy, marketing savvy and sales skills. His appointment will give a boost to our business operations in the corporate arena as we seek significant growth over the next three years.”

John said: “Tysers is clearly an ambitious organisation with a committed focus to expanding its corporate client base. It has a deep sense of customer service values and technical strengths that should be shown to a wider audience of corporate customers. I will be seeking to support my colleagues in this task.

“It’s a real pleasure to get the opportunity to work with a business that is highly focused, professional and with a real passion to create a brand that stands out from the crowd,” he added.
