Major Infrastructure Projects are large-scale, high-value developments that are critical to economic growth, connectivity, and public services. These projects typically include transport networks, rail and metro systems, roads and bridges, airports, ports, energy generation and transmission assets, water and utility infrastructure, and major public-sector developments. Due to their complexity, long construction timelines, and involvement of multiple contractors and stakeholders, they require specialist risk management and insurance solutions to protect against construction, operational, and financial exposures throughout the project lifecycle.

Data centre construction involves the design and delivery of highly resilient facilities that house critical IT infrastructure, including networking equipment, and data storage systems. These projects require specialist construction expertise to meet stringent requirements for power availability, cooling, security, connectivity, and operational resilience.

A typical data centre project comprises two key phases:

  • Shell & Core Build: Construction of the building structure and essential infrastructure, including foundations, steelwork, roofing, external envelope, power supply, substations, generators, cooling systems, and physical security measures.
  • Fit-Out: Installation of the specialist technical infrastructure within the facility, including racks, cabling, UPS systems, fire suppression, monitoring systems, and other mission-critical equipment required for operations.

Due to their high value, technical complexity, and business-critical nature, data centre projects require comprehensive risk management and insurance solutions throughout the construction and commissioning lifecycle.
