🛍️ M&S: £300 Million Blow from Hackers

In May 2025, Marks & Spencer suffered a major cyber attack that compromised customer data and disrupted online operations. The attack, attributed to the DragonForce hacking group, is expected to cost the retailer £300 million — nearly a third of its annual profit. Hackers reportedly gained access via a third-party supplier

 

🛒 Co-op: Swift Action Prevents Catastrophe

Co-op was also targeted by the same group in May 2025. The company avoided a full-scale ransomware lockdown by shutting down its own systems mid-attack, a move that caused temporary disruption but prevented more severe damage. Hackers later confirmed they had infiltrated the network and were preparing to deploy ransomware.

 

🚛 KNP Logistics: A Business Brought Down

In 2023, KNP Logistics (formerly Knights of Old) collapsed after a ransomware attack corrupted critical financial data. The company was unable to meet lender requirements, leading to administration and the loss of over 700 jobs.

In April 2025, The North Face also reported a credential stuffing attack that exposed around 1,500 customer accounts.

 

👟 Adidas: Customer Data Breach

In May 2025, Adidas disclosed that hackers accessed customer contact details via a third-party helpdesk provider. No payment or password data was stolen, but the breach affected customers in the UK, Turkey, and South Korea.
