Tysers announces senior roles for Tysers Singapore

Tysers is delighted to announce the appointment of Babita Rai as CEO, Tysers Singapore, and William Furness-Smith as Head of Marine, APAC.

Babita Rai
Babita joined Tysers in 2023 as Managing Director to lead Reinsurance operations in Singapore. In her new role as CEO, Singapore, Babita is exceptionally well placed to expand core areas of business and deepen Tysers’ client relationships in the APAC region.

A highly regarded and experienced broker, Babita has over 20 years of industry and regional knowledge. Prior to joining Tysers, she held various leadership positions at JB Boda, UIB Asia Reinsurance Brokers and Guy Carpenter.

William Furness-Smith
In his role as Head of Marine, APAC, William Furness-Smith has moved to the Singapore office, further bolstering Tysers’ offering and expertise in Asia Pacific. William will work with the teams across Tysers’ Singapore, Dubai, and Hong Kong offices to build innovative, tailored solutions for emerging risks.
William has more than 15 years of experience of Marine broking, with a focus on placing complex hull and cargo risks across international markets. Before joining Tysers in 2015, William held roles at Marsh & McLennan and Dry Cargo Shipbroker.
