2021 Awards Shortlist Success

The Tysers’ Team is proud to announce that this year we have been shortlisted, in several categories, at two leading industry award events.

Our submissions focused on the work of a few of our specialist teams and recognised the outstanding individual contribution of some brokers across our business.

We are delighted that Tysers’ teams are shortlisted for awards in the following categories:

Insurance Broker of the Year
Our entry focused on two areas of innovation during the Covid pandemic.

Firstly, work was undertaken by our Advertising and Commercials Team who worked tirelessly to rehabilitate the commercials film industry. Among many other initiatives the team undertook during the pandemic, members designed a one-off single peril policy to cover nominated key talent and film crew on any 3-4-day commercials shoot, due to contracting Covid-19.

In addition, our ‘Live’ Team worked with some of the leading names in Music and Live Events, approached numerous artist clients and galvanised stakeholders to lobby government. Together, we have been calling for a government-backed scheme to kick start the live events industry, asking the government to commit to underwrite further cancellation costs should they occur. This campaign has gained considerable traction, learn more about it here. We are hopeful that a government-backed insurance scheme will be announced shortly.

Lloyd’s and London Market Broking Team of the Year
Our entry focused on the response of the Music and Live Events Team and Sports Teams to handling a large volume of complex Event Cancellation Claims. Read more about the teams’ fantastic work during the Covid pandemic here.

Individual British Insurance Awards:
In addition, we are proud to announce that two of our colleagues have been nominated in recognition of their individual achievements and contributions to the insurance industry.

Bob Taylor has been nominated for Insurance Personality of the Year for his outstanding client work in the Live Music Industry throughout his career. Bob received a wide array of glowing testimonials from some of the music industry’s leading names which endorsed the exceptional contribution he has made to the sector.

Bethan Perris has been shortlisted for the Young Achiever Award. Bethan has already received recognition and several prominent industry awards for her contribution to the sector. Bethan’s dedication extends well beyond the ‘day job’ as she has acted as the Young Broker Ambassador for Greater Manchester & West Pennine and continues to lead as Young Ambassador for the London & South East Committee of BIBA.

We have been shortlisted in the following categories:

Broking Initiative of the Year
Our Advertising and Commercials Team has been shortlisted for innovation and the support it has shown to commercial producers during the COVID pandemic.

M&A Transaction of the Year
This submission focused on our acquisition and integration of RFIB. Although this was completed in early 2020, the category allowed for transactions from 2020.

Young Broker of the Year – Tim Thornhill.
We are delighted to announce that Tim Thornhill has been nominated in recognition of his dedication and commitment to the ‘Live’ campaign. The ‘Live’ team has worked tirelessly to lobby the government and Tim has been at the forefront of Tysers’ crusade as a leading voice calling for a government-backed insurance scheme. Tim has dedicated many hours to getting live music and events back up and running for the summer of 2021, demonstrating his support for all colleagues across that industry. 2020 Award Postponed
Finally, in 2020 our Hitchin Office, was nominated as Business of the Year in the Medium to Large Business category in the Hertfordshire Chamber of Commerce Awards.
Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards
The awards were postponed due to Covid but will go ahead on 9 September 2021 at the Warner Bros Studios, Leavesden. We wish every success to our Hitchin Office Team.
