Tysers hires reinsurance specialists to build out Asia and Australasia Marine & Aviation team

Tysers is ramping up its Asia and Australasia Marine and Aviation Team, which accounts for a third of the department’s business, with two Far East regional specialists. Jane Smart has joined Tysers from Swiss Re Asia to focus on innovative solutions and Cameron Nicholas will join the firm in January 2021 from Aon Re to develop the marine treaty business. Both hires are Associate Directors and will work within the Reinsurance Team. They will be based in London.

Jane Smart
Jane has over 20 years’ experience in the reinsurance sector and has worked as a broker and reinsurer in multiple international territories. Her market insight and specialist product knowledge will enhance Tysers’ bespoke client solutions with a focus on alternative risk transfer, retrospective & prospective cover and parametric products. As a senior client manager for Swiss Re Asia in Singapore, Jane covered Southeast Asia, India and Dragons.

Cameron Nicholas
Cameron joins Tysers in January 2021. He has a track record of building treaty and facultative reinsurance business in developing and mature markets. Most recently Head of Production and Marketing at Aon Re, Cameron’s extensive experience will strengthen Tysers’ ability to provide clients with optimal reinsurance solutions.
