“I started as a Trainee Broker in March 2012 for a firm which was bought by Tysers. When my firm integrated with Tysers I was excited to join a company that was growing and ambitious and that was bringing together so many market-leading brokers from niche areas of the entertainment sector.
I was promoted to Broker in 2015 and then had two promotions in quick succession to Senior Broker and then Associate Director in 2019. The encouragement of Senior Leaders has been a key factor in my career development. Tysers has supported my ACII studies, professional insurance qualifications, and I have also taken part in our inhouse Next Generation programme which develops leadership skills.
My current role involves overseeing the management of the Advertising & Commercials team. I also speak with clients on a daily basis and place cover for advertising agencies and production companies. I have a great team and we work really well together. We can always rely on each other which makes all the difference.”

“Having started and developed my career within a large insurance brokerage, I made the move to RFIB in 2009 which was acquired by Tysers in January 2020. I headed up the Claims function and oversaw some very challenging and interesting projects.
When Tysers bought RFIB, I was really pleased that we were integrating with a broker that was aligned to our values - it felt like a good fit, with a great team ethic.
I now head up the Marine Claims function and manage a fantastic team of 20 highly talented people.
The integration process has provided lots of exciting challenges and projects for my team and has pushed them to build and learn new skills.
Nurturing and developing my team is one of the best aspects of my role. I really enjoy seeing them progress through their careers - whether that’s helping them work towards a promotion or to take a step sideways into a different business area."

“I joined Tysers in 2017 on a work experience placement from school. My first role was working in the Sport and Entertainment division, supporting the teams with General Administration duties.
I was offered a permanent position and, for the next two years, my role was quite varied and included working in reception and helping to co-ordinate two office moves as part of the Facilities team.
I was lucky to form relationships with employees at all levels while working in this team. This gave me lots of opportunities to understand the different roles available in insurance and the best ways to develop my knowledge and skills.
In 2020 I made the exciting transition to Insurance Consultant within the MGA Division. This entails working with teams within Tysers to help clients set up insurance consortiums and engaging with new clients who want to become Coverholders at Lloyd’s.
In addition, I am studying for my CII exams, professional qualifications in the insurance industry.
At Tysers I have been supported by my managers and my teams – everyone is always happy to help. I have found initiatives such as “Lunch and Learn seminars” exceptionally useful. They are a great opportunity to learn from experienced members of Tysers across the whole company. The sessions are incredibly helpful in terms of learning about new areas of the business and have given me the confidence to grasp new opportunities.”
